 After spending the past two years as a Northern Arizona University play-by-play commentator, Joe Rauschenberger joins the Stark County family as the new voice of the Terriers. READ MORE
-------------------------- Joining the Stark County staff as the new voice of the Terriers is Columbia, Mo. native Joe Rauschenberger. Rauschenberger, a senior English major at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, brings tremendous passion to the Terrier airwaves after spending the previous two years as the voice of the Lumberjacks.
While at NAU, Rauschenberger has broadcasted over 20 women’s basketball and men’s ice hockey games as the KJACK News and Sports Director. His hefty resume also includes broadcasts of local high school baseball games, as well as pre and post-game shows for various Lumberjack sports.
Of the many elements captured through radio, Rauschenberger believes the most important aspect of broadcasting is translating the magical energy of the arena create by the fans, players and coaches. He strives to seize the electricity of the game and carry it to the airwaves, allowing the natural excitement to reveal itself and be shared by all.
Rauschenberger’s interests include the Chicago Cubs, listening to Oasis and reading international newspapers. Joining Rauschenberger in the Terrier's airwaves is former Kent State University graduate Ty Linder, who will handle the Terriers' public address announcing. Linder handles the play-by-play duties for the Golden Flashes baseball team and has served as the voice of Schoonover Stadium the past two years.
His resume also includes play-by-play for football, basketball, wrestling and baseball for WNRR radio in north-central Ohio. In addition, Linder has also been the public address announcer for Northern Ohio League wrestling as well as the northwest sectional and district wrestling tournaments since 2001.
