Game with Licking County rescheduled, Saturday’s contest with Cincinnati pushed back two hours
CANTON, Ohio – After months of waiting for Stark County’s season opener, Terrier fans will now have to wait one more day for the 2008 season to kickoff thanks to Mother Nature’s most recent setback.
Thunderstorms swept throughout the Midwest on Friday afternoon and washed away the Terriers’ opener at Licking County, which was set to begin at 7 p.m. The contest was rescheduled for August 1st at Walsh Baseball Field. Stark County was originally scheduled to battle the Settlers that day for a single game beginning at 5 p.m.; however, the contest was changed to a double-dip with Licking County becoming the home team in the second game. The start time for the doubleheader is now 3 p.m.
Rain also forced the Terriers’ home opener with Cincinnati Saturday to get pushed back two hours in anticipation of early rain showers. The opening pitch will now be launched at 3 p.m., as apposed to the original 1 p.m. start time.
