Five Terriers Garner All-Star Game Recognition DELAWARE, Ohio-The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League announced the rosters for the 2010 All-Star Game that will be held at Western Hills High School field, the home of the Cincinnati Steam on Wednesday, July 14. First pitch has been slated for 5:35 p.m. The All-Star roster will be composed of 53 of the GLSC's top players with each team being represented by at least three players. Players from the Grand Lake Mariners, Hamilton Joes, Lima Locos, Southern Ohio Copperheads, and Stark County Terriers will composed the ‘visiting' Red team. Players from the Cincinnati Steam, Delaware Cows, Lake Erie Monarchs, Lexington Hustlers, Licking County Settlers, and Xenia Scouts will comprise the ‘home' Blue team. Five Terriers' will be on the Red team that will be managed by Southern Ohio's Mike Florak, with Stark County's skipper Trent McIlvain assisting. Brian Meyer of Licking County will manage the Blue team. Three fielders will represent the Terriers at the All-Star game. Catcher Jason Bagoly (Kent State Univ./Austintown, Ohio) who leads the team with a .348 batting clip and .986 fielding percentage will be joined by outfielder Josh Haley (UNC Pembrook/ Jackson Springs, N.C.) who currently holds a .328 batting average with four stolen bases. Rounding out the Stark County fielding All-Stars is infielder Mark Lapikas (Univ. of Toledo/Youngstown, Ohio). Lapikas is currently batting .250 with team high 15 runs batted in. Pitching for the Red staff from the Terriers will be starting right-handed pitch Tyler Newhart (John A. Logan College/ Alliance, Ohio) and righty closer Pat O'Brien (Bowling Green State Univ./ Boardman, Ohio). Newhart owns a 2.66 earned run average through 20.1 innings pitched while only surrendering seven runs. O'Brein has recorded four saves in 12 innings of work wile holding opposing batter to a .244 batting average. The All-Star break ranges from Monday, July 12 through Wednesday July 14. After the break, the Terriers will be on the road traveling to Celina, Ohio to take on the Grand Lake Mariners in a July 17 double header followed by a quick trip over to Lima to take on the Locos in 3:00 p.m. double header on Sunday, July 18. -SCT-
