Wexford, PA- The Canton Terriers traveled to Pennsylvania this past Sunday and split a doubleheader with the Allegheny Athletics. Game one was an uneventful loss 2-1 with the A’s pitcher having 14 K’s and then in game two the Terriers turned things around as they won 6-2. Game One- The Canton Terriers scored once in game one and that wasn’t until the top of the 5th when Jesse Coblentz (Hartville, Ohio/Malone University) dropped a single into centerfield scoring Brett Domonkos (Middleburg Heights/Volunteer State Community College) who previously hit a stand up double to put himself into scoring position. Pitching a complete game for the Terriers in game one was Sam McWhorter (East Sparta, Ohio/Urbana College). Game Two- The Terriers took the lead 2-0 in the top of the 2nd and never looked back to improve their record to 13-11. The first runs were scored as Michael Chack (Uniontown, Ohio/Malone University) hit a line drive down the 3rd base line scoring Steve Wido (North Royalton, Ohio/Walsh University) and Nick Ball (Akron, Ohio/Shawnee State University). The Terriers would score two more runs in the 6th when RJ Vukovich (North Canton, Ohio/Fairmont State College) hit the leftfield wall for a double scoring Tyler Jones (Mansfield, Ohio/Walsh University) and Steve Wido (North Royalton, Ohio/Walsh University). They would score twice more in the 7th to seal the win 6-2. Pitching for the Terriers in game two were Matt Wilson (Canton, Ohio/Olney Central College) and Josh Graham (Carrolton, Ohio/West Liberty State College) with the close. Come watch the Canton Terriers as they will once again take on the Allegheny Athletics this Tuesday June, 13th in a doubleheader at 3pm at Walsh University.
