Behind a great team effort the Terriers completed a season sweep of the Anderson Servants by taking Game 2 of the doubleheader by a count of 9-3. The Terriers improved to 11-10 on the season while the Servants lost their 14th straight and fell to 2-17. The Terriers got on the board first in the second inning when Kevin Johnson (Cincinnati) reached on a walk, stole second and reached third on a wild pitch. Ollie Enos (College of Wooster) drove Johnson in with a fielder's choice to second base. The Servants then tied the score at 1-1 when Cameron Branock led off the inning with a double, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on the throw to second when Anthony Lymberopoulos stole second. The Terriers came right back in the fourth inning when Rob Wendzicki (Eastern Michigan) singled and went to second on an errant throw. Cory Hindel (Wake Forest) was then hit by a pitch and Enos sacrified them to second and third. Brandon White (Kent State) was then hit by a pitch to load the bases. Kevin Haas (Akron) reached on error which scored Wendzicki and Hindel which gave the Terriers a 3-1 lead. As Haas stole second the throw went into center which allowed White to score making it 4-1 Terriers. With Haas on third, Phil Bednar (Akron) hit a sac fly bringing in Haas and making it 5-1. The Terriers tacked on another in the fifth inning when Vince Chiera (Akron) scored before the Servants added two of their own in the bottom of the fifth to make it 6-3. The Terriers added insurance when in the seventh when Enos singled with the bases loaded to bring in Johnson. Haas then hit a two RBI single to left field to score Hindel and Enos making 9-3. Steve Davis (Kent State) then struck out the side to end the game for the Terriers. Cameron Betourne picked up his second win of the season pitching 4.1 innings and giving up three runs while striking out one. The Terriers next play on Friday July 6, when they host the league leading Delaware Cows in a doubleheader scheduled for a 3:00 start. Next weekend is also Family Weekend for the Terriers all weekend long, with a picnic at Hoover Park on Saturday after the doubleheader with Cincinnati.
