The Stark County Terriers looked to extend their winning streak to three games for the first time all season Friday afternoon, but were halted by the first place Delaware Cows, losing game one of the doubleheader 3-0. The Terriers had five hits on the day, but failed to string together enough hits to get a run. Terriers starting pitcher Duke Williams (Southern Arkansas University) pitched another great game, not allowing an earned run in five innings, but was hit with the tough loss, falling to 1-2 on the year. The Cows took advantage of poor Terriers' defense in the second inning, scoring two unearned runs on two throwing errors and two hits. In the bottom half on the inning, the Terriers would threaten when Chirs Niro (Miami of Ohio) and Phil Bednar (University of Akron) reached on back to back lead off singles. Niro and Bednar moved into scoring position on Ollie Enos' (College of Wooster) sacrifice bunt, but would be stranded as the next two Terriers' batters were retired in order. After the second inning, the Terriers would not have a runner reach third base and would only have five batters even reach base. Getting hits for the Terriers were Kevin Haas (University of Akron) with a single; Chris Niro (Miami of Ohio) with a single; Phil Bednar (University of Akron) with two singles; and Tyler Maag (Southern Arkansas University) with a single. The Terriers go to 11-11 on the season.
