The Stark County Terriers looked to take game two of Friday's doubleheader against the Delaware Cows, but once again fell short, losing by a score of 5-0. The Terriers offense just could not get anything going all day, only getting four hits in game two and five hits in game one. Only two Terrier base runners reached third base all day. The Cows struck first in game two of Friday's doubleheader, scoring two runs in the top of the fourth inning off of two doubles and two singles. The Cows struck again in the fifth inning, scoring one run on a single, a walk and a throwing error. The Cows added two insurance runs in the seventh inning off of a double a single and a walk. The Terriers threatened in the second inning but ran themselves out of the inning with two Terriers' base runners being thrown out at third base. The Terriers threatened again in the fifth inning when Blake Chaffee (Miami of Ohio) led off the inning with a double but would be stranded at third as the Cows pitcher struck out the side. Hits for the Terriers came from Phil Bednar (University of Akron) with a single and Blake Chaffee (Miami of Ohio) with two singles and a double. The Terriers fall to 11-12 on the season and look to get back to five hundred as they take on the Cincinnati Steam tomorrow, Saturday July 7th for a 1:00 PM scheduled doubleheader.
