North Canton, Ohio – After having a surplus of hits in game one of Sunday's doubleheader against the Xenia Athletes In Action, the Terriers found themselves down one run with only four hits going into the sixth inning of game two. But after two doubles and a single, the Terriers found themselves back in their regular swinging form and on the winning end of game two, completing the sweep of the Athletes and improving their record to 14-13. It was the Athletes In Action who scored first in game two, scoring one run in the top of the second inning. The lead off batter, Brian Kolb, reached base on a walk, stole second, advanced to third on an error and would later score on a RBI single by Athletes first baseman Andrew Wertz. Blake Chaffee (Miami of Ohio) led off the inning with a double to the wall in left center field and would advance to third base on a wild pitch. Chaffee (Miami of Ohio) would score a batter later when Kevin Johnson (University of Cincinnati) doubled over the head of the center fielder. Like Chaffee (Miami of Ohio), Johnson would advance to third on a wild pitch during Cory Hindel's (Wake Forest University) at bat. One pitch later, Hindel (Wake Forest University) laced a single over the head of the second baseman giving the Terriers a 2-1 lead going into the seventh. In the seventh, Terriers pitcher Andrew Hancock (Marshall University) sat down the side in order and earned his third win of the season. Terriers starting pitcher Frank Turocy (University of Akron) pitched five innings, only allowing one run on four hits, striking out six and getting the no decision. The Terriers hit the road Monday as they take on the Licking County Settlers at Denison University at 7:30 PM.
