North Canton, Ohio – With the Stark County Terriers playoff hopes ended earlier this week, the Terriers looked to end their season with a five hundred record as they took on the Lima Loco's Saturday. The Terriers would have two key plays at home plate and a dramatic seventh inning to defeat the Loco's 3-2 and get one step closer to five hundred. The Terriers stuck first Saturday, scoring a run in the bottom of the first inning. Blake Chaffee (Miami of Ohio) led off the game for the Terriers with a double down the right field line. Chaffee (Miami of Ohio) moved to third on Phil Bednar's (University of Akron) ground out to the right side. Two batters later, Jason Patton (Kent State University) delivered a two out single up the middle, scoring Chaffee (Miami of Ohio) and giving the Terriers a early lead. The Loco's would answer back with two runs of their own in the third inning. The Loco's scored after a lead off single, a hits batsman and a fielding error. In the fourth, the Terriers would tie the game, scoring a unearned run after Ryan France (University of Toledo) reached on a throwing error by the third baseman and scored three batters later on Ollie Enos's (College of Wooster) fielders choice. In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Terriers would win the game in dramatic fashion. Starting the rally for the Terriers was Ryan France (University of Toledo) who would walk with one out. Tyler Maag (Southern Arkansas University) would pinch run for France (University of Toledo) and advance to third on Kevin Haas's (University of Akron) single. Ollie Enos (College of Wooster) would be internationally walked to load the bases for Brandon White (Kent State University). White (Kent State University) would waste no time, hitting the first pitch to deep right field, scoring Maag (Southern Arkansas University) and winning the game for the Terriers. Getting the win for the Terriers was Rob Wendzicki (Eastern Michigan University) who pitched two scoreless innings, striking out four improving to 2-1 on the season. The Terriers improve to 19-20 and look to take game two of Saturday's doubleheader and finish the season at five hundred.
