The Canton Terriers continue their excellent play in the NABF College World Series defeating the home town Cecil County, MD Reds 3-0 Friday night. In another great pitching performance, Eric Marzec pitched eight innings of no hit baseball for the Terriers, striking out twelve and only allowing seven base runners all day. Marzec's outing came only a day after Terriers pitcher Aaron Swenson took a no hitter into the fifth inning. The only hit off of Marzec came in the ninth inning, a single through the right side of the infield. The Terriers bats came alive early Friday night as they scored two runs on three hits in the second inning. Greg Miller started the rally with a one out double. Two baters later, Troy Ellis laces a single, scoring Miller and giving the Terriers an early lead. The Terriers would add another run in the inning when Conner Egan singled in the gap, scoring Ellis. The Terriers would add a insurance run in the fifth inning after Conner Egan led off the inning with a single and scored three batters later on a fielding error by the Reds. The Terriers improve to 3-0 in the tournament and solidify a spot in the semi-finals that will played Saturday evening after the Terriers 1:00 PM game against Clearfield, PA Dingers.
