The Canton Terriers season come to an end, as the Terriers fall to the Long Island, NY Astro's 10-4 in the NABF College World Series semi-final. The Terriers and Astro's were locked in a 4-4 tie going into the eighth inning when the Astro's broke open the game with a six run inning in which the Astro's batted around the order. The Terriers could not answer back, only getting one base runner on in the next two innings. The Astro's took the lead early, scoring a run in the first inning and a run in the second inning. The Terriers would answer back with two of their own in the bottom half of the third inning when David Blackwell led off the inning with a double and scored when the next batter, Conner Egan also doubled. Egan would score two batter later on a throwing error. The Terriers would add another run in the fourth inning after Todd Myers lead off the inning with a walk and scored four batter later on Jeremy Reese's ground out to the shortstop. In the same inning, Troy Ellis and Conner Egan each singled. The Astro's would answer back, scoring one run in the fifth inning and taking the lead in the sixth with another run. In the seventh inning, the Terriers would fight back, scoring a run when Pat Conley reached based on a fielders choice and scored two batters later on a play where Conley over ran third base and took home when the first baseman could not handle the throw from the first baseman. But in the eighth, the Terriers pitching staff showed signs of fatigue after four days of continuous play. The Astro's scored six runs on six hits and one walk. The Terriers went through three pitchers in the inning. The Terriers finish the NABF College World Series 4-1 and finish their season with a overall record 22-13.
