The Stark County Terriers won the NABF World Series championship game for the second year in a row! The Terriers went 3-1 in pool play and defeated the Sayo Grays, from New York, in the championship game. They won the game, 13-10, after scoring 5 runs in the top of the 9th inning. The Terriers represented the Western Reserve Collegiate League and this years World Series was held in Sandusky, Ohio at the Sports Force Park Complex.

The Stark County Terriers are 2023 NABF World Series Champions — AGAIN!


The Terriers snagged a late lead and defeated the SAYO Grays 13-10 on Sunday at Sports Force Park in Sandusky, Ohio! The game was tied at ten with Stark County batting in the top of the ninth when Aidan Grabowski doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.


Both offenses were strong at the plate as the Terriers collected 13 hits and the Grays nine in the high-scoring affair.


In the first inning, Stark County got their offense going when Nathan Grega's sac fly scored one run. The Terriers added 4 more runs in the third inning.


The Grays scored four runs in the seventh inning thanks to a triple by Teonis Pimintel, a single by Marcel Garcia, an error on a ball put in play by Josuel Santos, and a double by Bryan Pena.


Griffen Ailes earned the win for the Terriers. The righty allowed six hits and five runs over four and a third innings of relief, striking out one and walking one.


#14 took the loss for the SAYO Grays. The bulldog lasted one and one-third innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out one.


Philip Drogavich started the game for the Grays. Drogavich allowed seven hits and seven runs over five and a third innings, striking out one. Drew Becker started the game for Stark County. Becker allowed three hits and five runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven.


The Terriers launched one home run on the day — Benny Hymes went yard in the eighth inning.


Stark County totaled 13 hits. Parker Varney, Hymes, Grabowski, Braden Broom, and Ty Williams each racked up multiple hits. Varney went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the team.


The SAYO Grays racked up nine hits in the game. Pimintel, Pena, and Kenny Scottborgh each had multiple hits.
