14U Can't Catch Up To IVL Baseball

The Terriers 14U watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 3-0 loss to IVL Baseball on Friday. IVL Baseball took the lead on a single in the first inning.


The pitching was strong on both sides. IVL Baseball pitchers struck out six, while Terriers pitchers sat down three.


IVL Baseball opened up scoring in the first inning, when Bowen singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.


One bright spot for the Terriers was a single by Blayne Maurer in the first inning.


Hill got the start for IVL Baseball. He lasted five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five.


Chase Duplain led things off on the mound for the Terriers. He allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out one. Kaleb Corrin threw three innings in relief.


Maurer led Stark County with two hits in three at bats.


Bowen went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead IVL Baseball in hits. IVL Baseball was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Rahe had the most chances in the field with eight.
