Collegiate Terriers Claim Tournament Championship With 5-3 Victory Over Ohio Elite!

The Stark County Terriers won the Western Reserve Collegiate League Tournament Championship against Ohio Elite on Monday, 5-3 at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium.


The Terriers got things moving in the first inning when Jack Mathey singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.


Drew Hallgren got the win for Stark County. The righty surrendered two runs on two hits over four innings, striking out four. Christian Harris, Lane Marshall, and Ben Mohler all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.


Matt Kahn took the loss for Ohio Elite. The pitcher went two innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out three.


The Terriers smacked one home run on the day. Davis Burick put one out in the third inning.


Mathey led the Terriers with three hits in three at bats.


Andrew Micale went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Ohio Elite in hits. Ohio Elite was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Bradley Goodyear made the most plays with seven.
