The Stark Coiunty Terriers Collegiate Team fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-4 loss to Lake Erie Warhawks on Sunday. The Lake Erie Warhawks scored on a single by Drew Compton in the first inning, a groundout by Matt Detering in the first inning, a single by Dillon Rohm in the first inning, and a single by Sean Darmafall in the second inning.
TThe Terriers lost despite out-hitting Lake Erie Warhawks ten to eight.
The Warhawks got things moving in the first inning. They scored one run when Compton singled.
Richard Crooks led the Warhawks to victory on the hill. He surrendered four runs on nine hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six. Daniel Hribal threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Carson Davis took the loss for the Terriers. He lasted three innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out three.
The Terriers smacked one home run on the day. Collin Hohman put one out in the third inning.
Stark County collected ten hits on the day. Hohman and Ben LeFebvre each had multiple hits for the Terriers. LeFebvre and Hohman each managed two hits.
The Lake Erie Warhawks tallied eight hits. Darmafall and Curtis Caithamhl all managed multiple hits for Lake Erie Warhawks. Darmafall went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Lake Erie in hits. The Warhawks were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Compton had the most chances in the field with seven.
